Spring into action for summertime outdoor decorating.

The spring and following summer season are such wonderful times to open your home to the outdoors.  We gain space, freshness and it’s a perfect time to try some new ideas.

Sunrooms, covered decks, outside patio dining and lovely gardens all come to life this time of year.  If we lay the foundation now, we get to enjoy them all through the summer and into the fall.

Garden decorating ideas include colored pots, unexpected yard art and lanterns for lighting.   Whimsical garden ideas include primitive tools planted in the garden, an antique children’s bike nestled amongst the flowers, metal statues and colorful birdhouses.

A wide range of outdoor seating is available.  The Adirondack chair always provides comfort and is a classic addition.  Decorative pillows provide added flare.  If you have a covered deck, add a colorful indoor/outdoor rug.  It’s a great look.

Garden Party

Tables in metal, glass and stone are attractive and functional.

Umbrellas are a  study and functional design and provide good shade.   When dining outdoors, don’t forget to add a pretty tablecloth, nice china and fun barware.  Your party will be a success

Green is perfect for mountain living and “Right At Home” is delighted with this year’s color choice.  The “Pantone Color Institute” which matches colors for the home, fashion and beauty industry announced its color choice last week.

Angelina Jolie wore stunning emerald earrings a few years ago at the Academy Awards.  It is a festive holiday color and of course it’s very regal.  It is also very earthy and warms up a decor in the mountains.  When it’s white outside with snow covering, green adds a good seasonal balance.  It warms up our winter indoor living.  In our shop, we have Frasier Fir candles, fabulous table top faux trees, pottery pieces and green upholstered pieces.

Shopping consignment is truly the green thing to do.  Reusing, repurposing and recycling is Green!
